OB version 2.00.009 generating DEP error

Sunday, February 11, 2007 by sophiesboy | Discussion: ObjectBar

In one of my periodic attempts to rework my GUI, I have been using ObjectBar, version 2.00.009 which is the latest non-beta version available to me on SDC.

While I have several questions to work through (such as how to get a working start menu button incorporated into the bar) the problem of the moment is that this version of OB seems to be running afoul of XP Home Edition 2002 SP2; specifically the Data Execution Prevention program, which geberates an error message and shuts down OB.

Does anyone have any idea why DEP seems to think I am running "malicious code"??

I have run my AVG anti-virus, AdAware SE Plus and SpyBot, and my firewall and anti-virus are active. Which brings me to one of two conclusions: either something is sneaking through all this security, or there is something about 2.00.009 that conflicts with DEP.

If anyone has a suggestion I would love to hear it.

do you have it turned on for only essential windows or for all?

it's probably cuz OB wants/needs to pull in info
