As for working with light and painting in digital art, I personally think there is none better.

Fear not [or fear even more]... I'm still posting critical comment on the wall submissions, [as are the other mods, and others from Stardock], so Zoomba isn't working in a vacuum.
The only difference of late is that the final actual kicking/acceptance is being done by Zoomba, and there's a 'softening' of the line between rejection and acceptance with the use of the 'personal gallery' option.
So far, this has been seen [by most] as the most equitable solution to the wall gallery's moderation.
It is still significant to remember the gallery is called 'Wallpapers'. It is not called 'visual art media'.
Wallpapers can be artistic, but art won't necessarily always lend itself to being a wallpaper.
If there were NO moderation within either the Wall, Logon or Bootskin sections I can guarantee you would find photos of some hip-cat and his significant squeeze, MyDogFido, and Spring-Break Happy-snaps. Why? Because that's what we get now. Fortunately for moderation you don't have to suffer them.
One day, after the easy questions are solved....like curing cancer and the common cold, someone will devise a 'filter/mod' system for wallpapers that EVERYONE will be happy with.
Me?....I ain't holding my breath till then....

Hey Skin : happened to drop by this morning + it has been awhile since I did so + my God, even though I no longer participate, view + dL like I used to, I believe in September when I happened to see a thread about a wallpaper w an steeply skewed photo shot low, looking skyward of a canary yellow highway sign against a cotton ball clouded blue blue sky on a sunny day, you had submitted that caught my eye, it was the same scene, different characters - it is unfortunate as an active contributor who has so much loyalty + dedication to this site + customization in general you must keep going thru this type of situation. Now, as in September, my answer to this situation is the same: your minimalistic/streamline/photo-journalistic style isn't as well received as I feel it should be - in Japan, they have a saying that goes 'the nail that sticks up gets hammered down". Perhaps this style conflict w regard to your wallpaper submissions would not occurr so frequently on other widely respected/trafficked sites. I am sorry to see this redux on you so I felt a note in this regard would be appropriate. All the Best for the Season dude

As is evidenced in the galleries at DA....I mean, one bloke uploaded four different shots of his woman's backside in a thong bikini. C'mon a bit of T & A is one thing, but I sure as hell don't want it on my desktop....nor all the furry critter pics of people's pets. Got enough stray cats n' dogs around the place without a constant reminder on my desktop of what's crapping all over my lawn.
Some people may not like various moderation rules/decisions, but given the some of the crap you gotta wade through at DA to find a decent wall/skin, I'm sure as heck glad we have more stringent moderation in place here at WC....keeps the public galleries neat n' tidy, easier to navigate and find things....
As some of you already know, my wife recently started making wallpapers and has a personal page at DA....she has also begun uploading walls to Skinnalicious and will do so here at WC once her subscription is finalised on Wednesday. Anyway, we've been discussing the public gallery vs personal page issue, because now it sort of relates to her as well, and she says that she'd be happy just to be able to upload her works here, if it gets relegated to her personal page only, so be it, and if it makes the public gallery then WOW that's great.
SEE, told you she didn't have an over-inflated ego unless I want something...."Yes dear, that's really, really good - fantastic even, now can I have a cup of tea and a scone?
Fact is, Shaunna (that's the ol' gal's name BTW) is far too happy creating and learning to be concerned with 'what page it goes on' issues...being a part of the community and contributing is far more important to her, as is my continued support and encouragement.
Anyhow, I'm starving, so I'm off to do some heavy duty ego boosting and grovelling to see if I can prise her away from the current creation ta git some grub.

| i was wondering when you were going to show up |
I was off Motor Racing since Thursday...in the 'JAFO' position...at Phillip Island with 31 V8 Supercars and a championship that had 2 drivers on even points going into race three on the Sunday. [Lowndes got a love-tap in the arse by Kelly, [ending up with some overdose of toe-out] so the latter beat him to the podium].
4 days away from computers/phones/modems ..... means I'm away from WC approx 12 days a year....
