How do I?

Monday, October 9, 2006 by Whoul | Discussion: OS Customization

I have installed a theme downloaded from the internet, and I installed it using WindowsBlinds, and that all worked. Howevere I have to re-apply it each time I log on. How do I keep it there permanently?

Open the WB config and click on the System inf (if using 5.x) and post the results here for best service.

I'm confused....

this is the only one that matches 5.01.006 release:

Wbhelp.dll 2004/09/18 16:37:00

the rest of them look like they came from various versions, but are off.

I'm running a version dated Sept & my Tray.dll is dated 04/13/2006.

Maybe the Trial version is different.

But if it was added to download.com on 3/21/2006, how do you get a Tray.dll dated 4/28/2006?

Don't know that a Trial version will let you. Maybe a limitation thing.
Never used the Trial, don't know all the limitations.

Paid version will load your skin on startup.

I'm not sure that the trial version will load automatically at startup (though I believe it should). One potential cause for this not loading at startup is a security app preventing certain settings from being applied to your system.

A workaround for this is to put a shortcut to wbload.exe (located in the WindowBlinds folder) in  your startup directory. Running this file at startup will have WindowBlinds loaded at each start for 30 days.
