HELP, DesktopX Objects Disappear...

I have this standar icon on the Windows quick launch bar that sends me directly to the desktop. I use it too much as i often need to go back to the desktop, and with so many windows opened minimizing one by one just isnt possible. If i minimize one by one or if i use the "minimize all" keyboard shortcut (windows key + m), the objects still remain, though the Windows "show desktop" icon seems to minimize the DirectX objects as well, as if they were just another window. Can i fix this or is it just a "feature"? I would relly appreciate help, cos i have spent a lot of time making my desktop and now everytime i use that buton it simply goes away (annoying thing 
). Ive tried with some widgets but the same happens. Thanks in advance for the help. 
PS: i already cleared the cache (we never know) but oviously they still disappear.

Another option is WindowsKey-D, which leaves up widgets for me, but makes zoomer (but not my tabbed) docks disappear, and reappear.
I created a widget, The Hardest Button To Button, to address this issue. You can get it here: WWW Link">Link
I hope that isn't one of the widgets you tried already.

As Bichur said, the standard "Show Desktop" shortcut in the quick launch area actually brings a special window, the Desktop Window to the foreground. This means it places itself above everything else, including the special Layered Windows that our widgets and other things reside in. In contrast, the widgets above actually minimize or otherwise rearrange the normal windows, and leave other non-standard display components alone.

Heh, yes, point taken, Bichur! The name is from a song, and it seemed an appropriate pun at the time--if you can imagine trying to edit a project via windows when the project itself is a window minimizer!

Yay thanks, that widget is awesome... it now stands above the quick launch bar, its really faster for me to work, just passing with the mouse over it everytime i need to go to the desktop... plus all the stuff stays in its place ^^ And i already deleted the old "show desktop" icon.
