"Sandbox" Type Program To Emulate Win98?

I was wondering if there was a program that could run a Windows 98 operating system inside an XP operating system. A win98 emulator of sorts. One that, when running a program inside the emulator, would not affect the WinXP OS outside.
Does such a program exist? I suppose it could emulate XP instead of 98 if one of those exists. Just something that I can mess around on and not affect my main OS

VirtualPC and VMWare ....2 choices for you...and the former is listed as a free download...

doh! Of course. My brain confused former and latter. Same thing happend alot with left and right in my brain. Something that wasn't very funny when doing driving lessions and the drving instructor would suddenly say: "Take left here. No! The other left!"
