A simple fix is to open the skin in SKS6 for the edit horizontal taskbars and edit the tray section for the text area to these settings...

[red]Top to 4 and [blue]Bottom to 4

being just that close it makes for the end of the lineup for icons to be lapped in such a manner for them to be wrapped into another area. Thus this setting allows just enough space to resolve the issue.

This is for the xp version yet to see it in Vista...
Thanks Shelbygt....that fixed the problem and now its working right....

What if I don't have SKS6?
Comment #63 Tuesday, October 7, 2008 2:28 PM
Same here... I paid $6 for the skin so I would think I should at least be able to see my system tray without having to modify the skin to work. Love the skin though...

Et tu, J.J.? Damn! Such a beautiful-looking WB/suite and I'll never be able to see it! I don't want to reiterate my problems with skins-for-money, but suffice it to say with the recent surge of paid skins and suites I don't like the implications for the site and community. I realize it's nice to make money and it's not even very much money at that, and I have incredible respect for Mr Ying's skinning wizardry and all the work that goes into something like this, but the more we have to pay to get top-quality skins from popular designers, the more other designers are going to try to turn to the retail model as well, and the more the vibrant community we have suffers. It's not about competition, GUI Olympics aside, that's not what drives a community like this one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those open-source, do-it-for-free crackpots, I think they hurt their respective communities just as much, but skinning has always been largely an arena of audience participation, and freely-available choices. Custom work and special requests, that's different, that's a custom service and you can work out the prices. But to make community skins is to contribute to this huge well, this base of stuff that we have, and the more we charge for certain general-purpose skins the more division is created within that base, and eventually there will arise a split, with free skins and components beneath 'premium' ones. That's precisely why I think it's not good for us: Take a look at these designers' other work, still available for free and still some of the most celebrated and accomplished work they've presented us with. How do we look at this paid suite versus that free one, both of which are equally awesome, and judge the new one worth paying for when the old one is free? My own personal complaints aside, this looks like a really really awesome skin and I wish I didn't have this hangup about cost, but I know you'll come up with more awesome free skins in the future and I congratulate both!

If it bothers you that badly you should post in the forums and leave it there, the submission thread is no place to be spouting off about someone elses business.... If you don't like it.. you should navigate away.

Exquisite skin. One request, the quicklaunch toolbar only displays one row of icons at double hight, you need to go tripple height before it displays 2 rows of icons.

how re-download the update of zing?
Comment #69 Thursday, October 9, 2008 5:30 PM
bed, make your own skins if paying for one is against your beliefs. i, along with hundreds if not thousands or others, dont' mind paying for a quality skin. the artists put hours upon hours of work into creating them so how is rewarding them for their work wrong? end of discussion. christonlia, go to support.stardock.com and enter your email address. stardock will then send an email message to you with a link to the file.

Google will get you any premium skin on here for free >.> I personally don't agree that Stardock sells you a product... then basically you have to pay to get the skin you want. I appreciate the hard work these people put into this. I think appreciation for there work is enough... and if not they should move on..... @Snid The point is you should not have to pay for skins ---> If you bought the product. Stardock should give these Master Artists a cut ---- > Let registered owners of each product download any skin they wish = everyone is happy?

Thanks for the updated & fixed version JJ. Rachelle234, I doubt that kind of talk is acceptable. You're basically condoning software theft. I'm not a great fan of pay-for skins, but of the many I've seen, I've bought two or three, simply because I liked them so much, and it wasn't exactly a bank-breaker. If you don't want to pay, get some free skins and forget about the rest.

I doubt this is not common knowledge.... maybe saying it is enough? This was my opinion nothing more. I personally buy my skins odyssey and zing. I don't condone anything.. nor expect you to understand my point and expectations. I would love to see a new system that actually protects these artist from piracy and helps everyone else.

Ford sells you a car.....but golly, gee....you have to still buy the petrol 'you want'....or you can always leave the car in the driveway....and just look at it.

The reality is....commercial skins are exactly what will aid in guaranteeing longevity within the skinning community.  Without them the future could be described as 'grim'....

...and barren....

Is this happening to anyone else? I installed the skin, looks great under xp, but all my my applications don't have a browser bar... I can't move it, or close it, maximize, minimize...

Just wondering.. but is the all programs button supposed to go pitch black when you mouse-over it? also, how do u get to the control elements?
Comment #77 Friday, October 17, 2008 4:28 AM
To 905fcuk: The control elements are not a real window, I just put it there to demostrate the ui elements of the skin

I bought it, I love it, I certainly don't regret it! I'm not far from judging it as the single most important reason why anyone would need windowblinds. Can't find anything really good to use for objectdock plus that matches though. (*hint*)

Mickeko, try the "Eminence" dock : WWW Link ...it's even got matching sky-blue separators, just like the text and other elements of "Zing".
