Today we released an update for Fences 6 that brings with it new features and refinements that improve the desktop organizational tool. The update is rolling out now but you can download it now from your Stardock account page or from within the Fences 6 configuration panel under the About section.
New in this release, there is a new option to require a click to open a Fence group that is rolled up rather than moving your mouse over the area. And as a happy middle ground, there is also a new option that will not open up the Fence group unless you pause your mouse briefly over the Fence group to avoid accidently expanding a Fence group as you move your mouse around the desktop.
When it comes to placing a Fence group on the desktop, there is a new intelligent placement mechanics for keeping spacing consistent around Fence groups and at the edge of the displays.

Along the enhancements, there are additional bug fixes that have been reported by the community that has helped shape this release. If you haven’t joined the conversation yet, make sure to let us know what features you would like to see added next as many of our updates are designed as direct results of your feedback.
Fences is more than a simple desktop organizational tool. While it is the easiest way to organize your icons, apps, and documents, when you use Folder Portals™ to move files between devices or create workflows to share documents with SharePoint/OneDrive/Dropbox, you unlock an entirely new experience for managing your content.
Fences 6 introduced many new features, including tabs. With multiple tab styles and a natural flow for how to add and remove tabs – this has been the biggest upgrade to the desktop in years. If you haven’t tried Fences 6 yet, you can download a free trial and it is also included in the award winning suite, Object Desktop.

I have a subscription to the suite. Fences 5.8x was running smoothly until recently. I've been having problems for a few weeks now: my own fences under W11 Pro can no longer be actively operated on the desktop, no content can be selected/executed, and the windows cannot be repositioned or configured. This affects (only!) all windows that are located on the left side of the desktop (docked at the bottom of the taskbar) up to the Windows Start button, because MS Windows 11 has recently positioned some interactive fields there (generous dimensions) that overlay fences and thus no longer make operation possible. After restarting the OS it works for a short time, then no longer works until the next complete restart of the computer.
Since I have the subscription and pay for it, I am constantly informed by email about new developments. Fences 6 has been out of beta for a while and yet my "old" 5.8x isn't updated! In Object Desktop, the Fences 6 button has no function. Why? How do I switch to Fences 6? Is this a bug? Now I uninstall the old one and install the 6.2 demo manually (a full version is not offered to me as a download) and hope it is recognized as a full version on my system and, above all, that it imports my individual remotes.

Can I display icons vertically like windows?
And your png image is a massive 3.46MB! Not all of us have unlimited bandwidth.
Here it is resized and compressed as 96k png. If you use webp, (googles preferred format) you can get it down to less than 40kb
