Start11 v2 for Business Adds New Deployment Features
More tools to easily manage the Start menu at scale

Last week, we shipped a significant update for Start11 v2 that added vertical taskbars and enhanced functionality for power-users with more than two monitors. Also with this release, we added new control functionality for business customers who have deployed Start11 v2.
Start11 v2 has always been the premier solution for managing Start experiences on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Why spend time fighting XML when you can use Start11 v2 Business to build a custom Start experience and deploy the configuration with a fully automated single-file experience.
With the release of Start11 v2.5, we have added more options that have been requested by our business customers – the ability to lock the configuration panel and the option to remove the configuration link from the context menu.

One of the hallmark features of Start11 v2 for Business is the ability to dynamically update the Start menu for your entire organization by placing a configuration file into a shared folder. Many of our clients create the desired configuration, save it to a SharePoint site, and point all menus to load the configuration on login.
By setting up your environment with this type of configuration, when you replace the file on the SharePoint site (or any shared drive), Start11 v2 will ingest the file on login (or after restarting Explorer) and the menu layout is updated…reducing the time to update a menu from hours or days to nearly instantaneous.
More than simplifying the experience, the ability to easily control what content is showing on each endpoint is the power of Start11 v2. We have helped clients deploy configurations where each department can customize what content is shown in their menu.
As an example, Accounting needs the entire Office suite whereas a physician needs an entirely different set of applications. With Start11 v2, it’s easy to provide each department (or user) with the applications and structure they need to be successful without having to make tradeoffs about which apps get bumped to being hidden in a folder or behind a dropdown.
