PLYMOUTH, Mich.-Oct. 10, 2013 - Leading developer of desktop enhancement software Stardock announced today the accelerating popularity of its Object Desktop software suite. Object Desktop, comprised of productivity-boosting applications such as Start8, ModernMix and Fences, provides users instant access to Stardock's suite of productivity and customization applications. The entire suite is easier to use than ever thanks to a new module that handles installation and updating for users.

"With the introduction of Windows 8 we have seen rapid growth in the popularity of Object Desktop," said Robert McElroy, brand manager with Stardock. "Customers are purchasing Object Desktop at a rate three times higher than prior to the release of Windows 8. Today we are also announcing the all-new Object Desktop Manager, which automates the installation and updating of all products in the Object Desktop suite. Windows 8, rather than killing desktop customizing, has served to revitalize it. Even those who were ok with Luna see the need to remove the blandness that is the Modern UI. Eye candy aside, ObjectDesktop makes the OS more familiar and usable.

Thanks to the (in my opinion) horrid design choices made by Microsoft, it looks like my favorite software company will continue to live long and prosper.

Is there a difference between this and the new Stardock Central?

CarGuy1 the only difference that I see is tied to the names.  Stardock Central shows all Stardock programs you have installed, Object Desktop Manager only shows those programs installed that are included in Object Desktop.  Not sure if there are other differences.

I think thats another reason to make START of Windows8 skinnable... speaking of tiles, tile frames, the pop up bars on right click, beeing able to animate live tiles, draging tiles / effects like wobble shake and all that...   wouldn´t you agree that three times the money and satisfaction of those that actually like the big startmenu would be a win win situation ?

Ohh and congratulations on the sales
Windows8 must be booming for Stardock
