PLYMOUTH, MI -- Sept. 12, 2013 - Stardock, leading developer of desktop enhancement software, announced a partnership with Parallels today. With 90% market share, Parallels Desktop for Mac is the No. 1-selling Mac software that lets users seamlessly run Windows on a Mac without rebooting. The agreement bundles both Start8 and ModernMix from Stardock with every copy of Parallels Desktop 9.

“We are pleased to provide our customers the additional functionality delivered by Start8 and ModernMix,” said Nick Dobrovolskiy, Vice President of Desktop Virtualization with Parallels. “Around the world, people are choosing Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac and telling us they love its indispensable conveniences such as cloud optimization with iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive and SkyDrive, plus PowerNap for Windows, 40 percent better disk performance and support of OS X Mavericks (10.9) and Windows Blue (8.1).”

Start8 is a program that gives Windows 8 users the traditional Start button and Start menu that has been part of Windows for nearly 20 years.  ModernMix enables the new Windows 8 modern apps to be run in a resizeable window on the desktop.

“Stardock is proud to work with the developer of the world’s best-selling virtualization software for the Mac,” said Jamie McGuffie, Vice President of Stardock. “Stardock has spent the last 20 years developing solutions that improve the PC user experience.
