I've been doing my best to forget the windigo indigo (I've tried therapy and hypnosis so far, to no avail). But you just had to bring it up, didn't you?

I've been looking at some of my old stuff, from the days when I didn't have a clue what I was doing messed around to see what I could come up with. I'm wondering whether it might be worth using. What do you think?

And here's a (veeeery) basic mock-up of a wallpaper I'm planning on. It's called 'The Angel of Death'.

As long as he doesn't have pointy ears and a green complexion.

WOW I love the angel of Death it's got a spooky feel to it yet it looks like its walking on clouds.
it looks like a plate pattern, yet it has the look of a netball so cool, wonder what would happen if you were to add the ball one and the fire together and call it the flaming ball
just an idea
, but seriously tho they are all great

Hopefully it won't be spooky when it's done, as that's the complete opposite of what I'm going for, lol. It's an idea I've wanted to do for years now, but for one reason or another I didn't feel I was capable of doing it. I still may not be, lol. But I've thought for a long time about the idea of death as a figure, and while the Grim Reaper was great during my youth, it doesn't make sense now. People do not want to give up their life. And why would anybody want to walk away from life just because some foreboding, skeletal figure comes to collect them. During the Great Plague, people reported seeing skeletons running in the streets and jumping on peoples' backs. Obviously it was just a manifestation created by the hysteria that existed at the time, and it's an obvious symbolism. But the Grim Reaper/skeleton as symbolism is really more to do with the fear of death than death itself.
What would make some kind of sense, to me at least, is the Angel of Death being a vision of absolute beauty. Something that doesn't inspire fear, and simply by its appearance makes you feel that moving on from life is okay. There's a great quote from the film Jacob's Ladder that's really resonated with me since I first saw it:
"If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth"
Could be interesting. I'll have a play with them when I have time and see what I come up with.

I think I'd be more curious than frightened. Scared shitless too but what if..............there's an infinite what if because you'll never know one way or the other. Best way I think is silently in your sleep. This way when you wake up and look around you you can honestly say......WTF!!
