Win7 and Realtek Sound Problem
Sunday, March 28, 2010 by lovely62 | Discussion: Windows 7
I upgradet from XP to Win 7 32 bit and now suddenly my sound scratches, before it didn`t do that, I already upgradet the Realtek on Bord Sound, checked out my speakers (Bose) on my other 2 PC`s (XP, Vista) and they worked with no Problem and no scratching at all!!
So my Question: Does anyone else have this Problem - or is it just me again
??!
Is it a Win 7 issue?
I`d be thankfull for any help!!!!!

Unfortunately, Chasbo hit the nail on the head. You will need to do a clean install for win 7 to be stable.

Have you installed win 7 drivers for the sound chipset?
It may not even be compatible with 7, My 300 dollar Creative X-fi Pro card wasnt.
I had to ditch it and buy a new card (but I wanted a new one anyway so I didn't complain too much
) but it's a good example of something that worked fine on XP and completely useless on 7.
for anyone wanting badass sound on 7 I highly recommend what I got.

Un-install the Realtek drivers and Control Panel software and use the Win 7 (MS) drivers.

Dunno why, my X-Fi Pro card works perfectly in Win 7 Home Premium x64

oh sure it works, but for semi-pro recording in a digital audio workstation like Cubase, its far from satisfactory or even usable, with regards to multitracking, with VST's and low latency.

the realteck is compatable with windows 7. my gues is that there is an error with your os and you may need to reinstall. before you do that, try opening the drivers and running them in a the compatability mode for your previous os. you didn't give enough info for me to figure out exactly what is wrong.
p.s. my computer is using realteck and i have had no problems

Going from XP to 7 is very tricky. Best thing is a clean install of 7 from what I've heard. That could be the problem. You might have to start all over again. You need expert advice. I didn't want to mess with it and I needed a new computer anyway so I avoided all that.
