AutoArchive Problem
Friday, June 6, 2008 by pjamme | Discussion: Object Desktop
My C: drive used to be a 36GB SCSI so I had always installed programs to my D: drive where there was more room. Using StarDock Central and Auto Archiving I am now having a problemUpdating IconPackager 4 ans SkinStudio 6 Professional.
It says:
Load: d:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\installed\ip4.xml 0 (file not found)
Result: Auto Archive Failed (13)
Would you like to continue with the installation of IconPackager 4? Yes or No and of coourse I have said no a few times.
I says pretty much the same thing for SkinStudio 6 Professional except the file is sks.xml.
{I haven't looked to see if the file is actually there, i will tonight and report back}
Any ideas?

Thanks, I'll give it a try tonight.
The files needed are only in d:\Program files\Stardock\Sdcentral\data\public\sks\production. So I am assuming those are the ones currently in use. Not sure why the aren't in Installed.

Tuesday update
Bichur,
I had no success finding "refreshing XML" or "settings changing servers", probably looking in the wrong place.
I didn't read the part (Uncheck auto archive) until just now so
The Right click offered me Archive Seleted Application and Archive Entire Application (Including Skins) both failed with the same error.
Using the File Menu (Top Left) however I was able to download and archive successfully both programs.
I had downloaded the full Impusle install so I uninstalled impulse and installed the new one. It allowed me to successfully update both programs.
Thanks for all your help,
Peter

changing servers? look in same place
you can also try:
uncheck auto archive
right click on the app line and manually archive it - if that works, then right click it again and choose the option to download the new straight to archive, then you can uninstall the old and use the archive function to restore the new archive
