I am confused... you mentioned that this is for XP only and I am seeing "Vista Ready" icon by the screenshot?

Let's see if I have this right ... rather than provide a start menu that works with XP, you're recommending users install another program that sucks up resources in order to make the XP start menu look like a Vista start menu? Why I want to do that? I don't mean that as a nasty question - I'm just curious what's the purpose? I may be missing something.

Citizen) MeSleeper The reason I suggested this (using Vistart) to emulate the start panel is that with vistart you can get a more accurate Windows 7 start panel. For sure its not for everybody, basically I am trying to get input here cause I am sure in the long run there is still gonna be a lot of XP users even after Windows 7 is released and this is one way to continue supporting the XP user...  and also its very easy for me to make a start panel that would resemble Windows 7 but all the bottom part of the stat panel would not work. This emulator emulates the panel and all the bottom part of the panel does work as if you were on Windows 7 or Vista. And as for resources it doesnt need any resources....

b123- is there any advantage to using this skin in Vista vs. the previous release made for Vista?

Nice WB!

And a note to those wondering about ViStart:

ViStart was created by lee-soft.com to go along with Windows X's popular Vista Transformation Pack system hack. However, after people found out how to skin it, ViStart became a popular skinnable Start Menu app. I used to use it when I still used XP and I loved it.

Thanks Butch for the explanation. I'm leary - mostly because I'm fussy about what I install. I don't understand how ViStart can not use resources. It has to load into memory in order to emulate the start menu. The user ratings on the ViStart download site give it a 3.3 out of 5 (30 users). That's hardly a ringing endorsement. I'll stick with your other excellent skins for now (I currently use the XP version of BlackGlass). I'll take the Windows 7 plunge when it's released. Memory demands are growing and the only way to hanlde them is with a 64 bit OS. Win 7 will be a good time to make the switch. Keep up the good work - anything you release I enthusiastically look at
