Umm..LoL..You asked for it..Dont like it..

I use skins *for the "Frills, special effects, buzzers and bells" if I wanted to get "minimal" I could and would do that within the OS itself...
Anyway, I am not trying to say anything at all bad about your skin, and I thank you for sharing, I just offered my comment as you asked, and it is purely based upon my own *personal preferrences.
Aside from the fact that people will rarily comment upon a skin, they kind of do the "Hit and Run" method of you got a comment!..LoL

Take care,

It's a bit too.... windows 98ish.

Minimal skins are great, but if you look at some of the minimal skins that won prizes at the gui olympics last year, they were minimal but still had style to them.

It's kind of hard to explain what you need to put into the skin, but take a look at some of the minimal skins in the library, such as kewk-hoe by Erik Holmer, or opulence by b0se.

My suggestion is, try to put together a minimal skin that isn't just solid blocks of color done up in mspaint in a few minutes, but take the time and add some texturing and depth to the graphics.

A good start! I'm not a huge fan of it, but I can see that you're interested in skinning, and thats always a good thing. I'd suggest that you do as Halluci says and take a look at some other minimalistic skins to get the feel of what people like. Overall though, good work, and thank you for sharing.

Its a good start. Not all that bad. I do dig minimal themes. I think the wallpaper you have in the screenshot is what the real problem is. No way near a match. I think you will get a better response by changing that.

I'm glad you don't have to please everybody in the world. I happen to like it very much and I'm using it right now in fact. Why, because it is simple. I would prefer downloading something like this to most of the others that look so busy.. You keep doing what your doing and do it only for yourself. This one's good and it's a keeper...

Thanks For Sharing

Its really not too bad. You skinned almost everything, it's not a sloppy mess, and it is very usable. You even skinned the minimized window captions. Alot of skins are missing that. The special title bar buttons could use some attention. The wallpaper used in the screenshot is a mistake.

What a relief! A nice, crisply styled skin, in which everything works. The colours too are pleasing to the eyes. Don't get down from someone calling it "crap". There are those out there who appreciate what you've done.

Its a start. Night Train is right. A lot of skinners leave the minimized window caption unskinned but in your case you did not. i say you put your effort to best and that is a SOMETHING. I can not wait for the skin that will put up to the challenge of Double Zero. I have my fingers crossed.

Nice - I'm using it now as a base - as you said - as it is simple. The only thing I could suggest is that the button tell you what they do in some way, because the help button can take the place of the other buttons sometimes
Comment #17 Tuesday, May 17, 2005 12:08 PM
Yes, there buttons do not tell what they do, but they are always found at the SAME position.
