One thing you could maybe try is setting the button text to be a very light, but not white colour. That might show up, at least enough for you to be able to make it out. The edit would be easy with SkinStudio, it's just Miscellaneous/Colours and in the section on the right, 3D Controls/Text - System Button. Hope that helps a bit.

I went ahead and changed the button text color to BLACK in SkinStudio, and everything looks fantastic now, and I have yet to run into any problems with applications with black-on-black button text/box issues. Blackcomb really is the bees knees...

All of VoodooFreak's Blackcomb wallpapers go great with this. It's amazing --- there are so many wonderful WindowBlinds skins out there, but I always find myself coming back to Blackcomb!

Jewels: That's not so good. Unfortunately I don't know what the problem is here - it's not non-rectangular or anything like that which would cause it to have slow shadow rendering. You could try disabling menu shadows in Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System/Advanced/Performance Settings to see if that helps.
