If you’re a Gmail user you may not have noticed that the URL when logged in is no longer //gmail.google.com/*. Google has dropped the ‘G’ and turned the URL into //mail.google.com/*

This worked for me.

Right click on GMail icon.
Select configure.
Select Meter tab.
Select GMail.
Click on Configure
Under URL erase the g in //gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom so it reads https: //mail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom

strangely, this docklet does not work for me at all. i have the latest sysstats installed and msxml installed too. however when i load the gmail.ini config file, the sysstats "question mark" icon still remains there and when i right click and hit "configure" , object dock crashes. by the way. im using object dock 1.2 free version. strange thing is it used to work with the plus version of 1.2. LMK if anyone has a solution. thanks in advance

I have downloaded the MSXML thing and redownloaded the GMAIL, but I do not get a gmail entry in the Meter list, I get something called MailMeter and tried putting username in the profile box, but that doesnt seem to work. I am using SysStats 2.5.7

Frustrating... %s problem... it won't remember the xpath. I suspect it's a MSXML problem, but I don't have a clue.

I just gave this dockelt another try, it seems to be working now
I have to agree with OndrejL, a sound option would be great.

has google changed the URL?... i've redownloaded the gmail docklet but still can't get the number of emails . If you update the docklet could you make the date of the latest released update in the comment? Thanks

Edit:

Hmmm now its working again... weird. Must have been a glitch from google then

Hi all, trying to get this working, read over everyone's comment a least a dozen times.
I am consistently getting 0 emails reported back even when I have unread emails. I can see it go from %s to 0 on an update. But it never seems to go from there. It worked for 1 day then just died. If I try the atom url I do get an XML file with a count greater than 0.
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling objectdock (down to cleaning the registry). Reinstalled MSXML a few times. Cleaned out sysstat and using the latest version I could get 2.5.10 from memory. Reloaded the google config file a zillion times.
I even tried it on a completely different machine ... still doesn't like it.

Can anyone help? Love the docklet when it did work that one time!

Ah .. don't worry .. played around with the config and somehow it's working again. Automagically.

I love this, thanks a lot.

Is there any chance of have a sound notification (custom), when there is a new email? That would make it perfect.

Anyone else suddenly have the Gmail docklet stop working? Mine was working totally fine until yesterday. All the settings are right, but it still just says % Emails. Thoughts?
