An outstanding creation! However, I would really love to be able to change the rotation speed in a future version. Thanks.

If your asking if there are clouds in this dream. The yes, there are clouds. The screenshot does not show many clouds but if you watch the video preview you will see many more of them.
Perhaps one feature to ask of StarDock and DeskScapes is a way to adjust video playback speed?
Comment #26 Sunday, November 11, 2007 5:10 PM
Couldn't you do that by making it a Dynamic Dream?
Comment #27 Sunday, November 11, 2007 5:29 PM
Dynamic Dreams are DirectX applications, this is a prerendered video.

I have a number of 3D Earth simulators and they are rendered in 3D DX9. Would a 3D rendered version allow for user control over the speed and also be a much smaller download too?
You'd be up against some really good competition for making a rotating Earth. Two of the best are 3D Earth http://www.3planesoft.com/pages/earth.html and my favourite http://www.fpsoftlab.com/earth3d.htm?
It would be really good if you were able to make something like this as a dream.

Yes and yes
I've actually tried my hand at programming 3D and it's not for me. While I can program utilities and tools, I can't seem to code graphic applications.

That would be nice. Also a way to fast forward to a certain point in a large mpg.

Two...It spins as fast on my machine as the sample video show..maybe that because I have a strong graphics card...dont know
Three...clouds...i think the guy was asking if the clouds are dynamic and change over time or are they just a static image
Anyway to slow it down to a realistic rotation?

The dream should be taking two minutes to complete one rotation. The video preview takes only one minute. Please let me know if this is not the case!
Clouds are static
Wouldn't a realistic rotation be 24 hours

I thought as much. I understand the balancing act you faced and I think the outcome was great. I commend you for having the patience it took to create this one. It looks really awesome with the Quest blind in blue.
