This may have been answered some where before, but is there any plan or is it even possible to release a dynamic dream development kit. So far, the only ones who are making dynamic dreams are stardock, and stardock is charging $9 bucks for them. When will the community beable to provide some imput.

Meh, I reluctantly bought this one even without a preview. It's worth maybe 3 dollars but not 9. Very slow anmation, only one animation, not various animations, no way to change or adjust the speed. I'm not a big fan of this one at all. What is the refund policy on these dreams anyways?

The animation is slow by design. Moving quickly would be very distracting.

I don't want it to necessarily be quick but changing it to my preference would be nice along with some different animations.

I bought this not knowing that it needs twice the mem from my graphic card when in dual monitor mode. the fan on my 256mb Radeon X1650 is going nuts with my dual monitor setup. I cannot use it. It bogs down my GUI. When I move windows they drag behind the mouse. The comments within the dream say that I should be able to use this in top quality, but even when I reduce it and turn the 3d features off it lags. I hope there will be some kind of improvement with this dream, otherwise I see my money wasted. Don't get me wrong, I love the dream, but I am disappointed I can't really use it. Maybe when it gets colder I turn it on to get some heat from the x1650.

It does not require twice the RAM in dual monitor mode. More ram is needed for the DWM to run which may be causing a problem.
I would set your deskscape settings to 75% with AA rather than 100% as this should reduce the ram used. If this does not help then pick the no AA option (one stop lower on the slider) as this will reduce the RAM usage by a massive amount.

Nope, tried a couple things. in fact, after half a day or so my PC crashes with a BSOD. nobody else has problems, must be my system. maybe. not sure if there is a crash report that tells me more. let me know where to look for.

well, I just installed it on my wife's notebook (inspiron E1505 with gma950). It runs fine on that machine. I guess it's a gift now

Well, each of my cards have 512 mb of memory and I haven't even seen a card with less that 256 mb in years, so...alright by me.
Seriously though, if one is running multiple monitors, it's almost a given they have 256+.

Running multiple dreams at once would require at least 256MB of video memory.

If it runs better on the gma950 then it suggests there is a driver problem on the X1650. The X1650 should be much better than the gma950.
Much of the development of this dream was done on an ATI 9700 Pro in single head mode (this dream was the very first one made) which is much slower than a X1650.

How do you stop the pictures from moving? I have 3D turned off and in crop mode but the pictures still move. I would like to have the ability to run a plain old slide show with out the pictures moving if possible.

ok, Neil, please explaing to me, why someone says something is off with this dream, u run around to fix it ASAP, but desktop collage, nothing every happened, and we were promised updates several months ago?
oh, don't get me wrong, i love stardock, couldn't use my PC without them, and will buy this dream after this post LOL, but still, stardock is starting to sound alot like sony with all the broken promises

phophetizer: I am sorry you have had problems with the desktop collage dream. That particular dream isn't my area but I have made sure the problems you reported have been raised internally.
Please make sure to let us know if you have any problems with this particular dream.
CarGuy1: Disabling the animation is not something we had ever considered.
Is anyone else interested in having that feature?

Is it possible to download a watermarked demo version, so I can test it out on triple monitor, desktop collage does not support Vistas "fit to screen with cropping" so i get distorted pictures on my side portrait monitors, i'm hoppping this one does support it ? can any multi monitor people test it for me.

I would be interested in a way to SPEED UP the animation. It really is soooooo slow that it's like not having any animation at all. (

I just purchased Photo Dream and selected a folder with several sub folders. Is it possible to configure Photo Dream to randomly pick photo's (all subfolders) ?
