Love the animation, reminds of that mobile phone advert. Works with iTunes as well

Thanks for the positive feedback. I just updated with version 1.01 that fixes a graphical glitch with the animation, as well as adds a second roll-out for the different ways to load music's to play.

Also, I just tried to run from home and it prompted me to update DesktopX. Make sure you get the most recient version of DX from SDCentral (with the updated DXPlayer.dll) before you try running.

I love it!!! Very cool gadget
It's a little high on cpu usage (17%-35% depending on whether the doo-dad on the right is open or closed.) Doesn't seem to matter if it's mp3 or wma. In fact, it's at 22-25 just sitting there.

What is it using to play songs when running on it's own, without winamp or wmp loaded? Object Media?

Great job and very original. Thanks for uploading.

Nice, but why only MP3 ? Should include all playable extensions from WindowsMP and a small screen to view clips

I agree with werewolf about the CPU usage being a bit high when idle.

And how do you clear the play list?

If nothing is loaded, then it will actually use an internal copy of WMP, in which case it should load everything that WMP will load (assuming Media Files is selected as the filter on the open dialog). Did you try it out? When BoogieBac said "play your MP3s" he was simplifying.

And yes, there's no Clear Playlist or New Playlist button, which is a little unfortunate . . . you could make a near-empty one and open it, though, that would probably work.
