Very interesting, which is typical of your artistry I have to admit. I notice you're running XP PRO SP2 from the screen shot. Have you had any problems with time/date changing or, actually, NOT changing with the SP2?? I've had runtime error 97 with sysmetrix and date doesn't change with DX Widgets (Tiggz's K-Display to be exact). Was just wondering. Anyway, excellent job. Downloadin' now and will check it out. Oh yeah, one other question are you using a particular Window Blinds theme with this? If so, might I ask which one? Thanks in advance and thanks for sharing your talent.

Phoon, just downloaded and noticed that your theme is only saved as a zip file vice a .dxtheme. How do you get DX to load your theme ?? Sorry to seem stupid here but, guess I am. Haven't encountered this before...sorry.

Mr Maggot,
Right now, I'm using Artemis by Snidely Whiplash. Seems to go good with it. I am however, working on a WB to go with it. May take awhile though...
As for SP2, I've had no issues so far. I turn off the firewall though as I have a nice expensive hardware firewall.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Oh.. and as for the zip format.
Thats a issue with SP2 which should go away at some point. I just tried to dload it, and it is in dxtheme format. SP2 likes to save them as zip. Just rename it to .dxtheme and all should be good.

Fascinating theme. Might even make me lower my resolution to 1280x1024 to see how it really ought to look!

Nice work.

Sir Phoon, thanks for the info. Will give Artemis a try. Also, I didn't rename the zip. Opened DX, went to "LOAD THEME", went to the dir with the zip in it and clicked on it. It loaded. I did some tweaking of the theme (added some prgrm shortcuts under the PROGRAMS area) then went to SAVE AS and the theme was now in the THEMES directory. Also, I turned off the firewall as soon as SP2 was installed, I use my own. The SP2 one is too elementary and doesn't block port scans or much else from "outside". It's okay, in a very basic way, for your programs trying to access but, my firewall's better, so....It's also incompatible with my Norton AV, which Symantec is supposedly curing.....Wonder how long it'll be before SP2 and apps get along?

Hey snarph!!! Bout time you come out of the woodwork!!

Oh.. I'm sitting on a few projects... tweaking them and touching them up.
I've got at least 2 dx themes and a windowblind or 2.
That's why it's taking me so long. I keep bouncing back and forth and can't stay focused on anything. Thus, I accomplish nothing!

This theme is absolutely gorgeous. The colors balance, perspective is interesting, and originality of pop up animation makes this a unique work of art. Good job! Would be cool at higher resolutions too..

I wish I could make some things in higer resolution for you, but I just don't have the horsepower to go any higher. (

what version of desktopx you running digicatz55?
Try unloading desktopx and deleting the contents of your
"username" Theme folder. Then reload the theme.

Why 1280x1024 only?

I mean really....C'mon!
Comment #15 Thursday, October 21, 2004 8:47 PM
Sorry Elite Ninja... that is what I run.
This is not the type of theme that is easily adjusted to different resolutions.
Do you run lower or higher than 1280x1024?

Thanks goodmorphing!!
I can't wait till my wallet lets me go higher.. (by then I will have to go back to 1024x768 due to old age though LOL )

This is great! I love it!

I would download more themes if they supported multiple resolutions. I run 1600x1200 at home and 1800x1440 at work. Does DesktopX not have ability to scale objects to the user's resolution?
