I liked it. Except that it exposes a desktopx bug. you must run at high resolution and it showed up off screen on my puny 1024x768 Presario. Animated mirc would be nice and maybe a tiny bit more space between the objects for people who have trouble positioning the mouse just right on those arrows. I really like it. It's going to have a permanent home on my machine. Now if only they'd release a version of desktopx with objects that stick around between themes. Then I could have this on every theme without re importing.

Mr. Leon,

Desktop X, beta version now supports such a feature... They call them persistent objects.

I really like this object.

Problem is, I can't get it work on my desktop. The "Top" is offset from the rest of the objects by 400 pixels, making them appear off of my screen.

To make matters worse, I can't ungroup them long enough to fix this. I have to use a bit of creative cloning. Even then, however, the graphics in the top square, and in the associated flyout, all disappear when I try to group them again.

And DX's Object Browser is not the help I expected. When I go into it to try to force positions of the diappeared objects, nothing happens.

Like I said, I like it, a lot. But with DX in its current state, it seems unusable to me. Pity.

I will see if I can fix this and get it reposted this afternoon. Sorry, It works fine at 1600x1200 but it should be OK scaleable.

I finally got it working this morning. I had to drag everything over to the middle of my screen, duplicate the "Top" object, then delete the original, then manually place everything where it needed to be. It seems to be working fine now.

I think it's a problem with DX. The "Top" object did as it was told: it docked itself to the top right edge of the screen. The problem is that its children didn't follow suit; they retained their positions form your desktop (I run at 1280x1024).

I'm not sure if DX is supposed to move the children along with the parent when docking, but it would be nice, since dragging them always drags the whoe set.

BTW, is there a way to keep the clock from hiding itself everytime you take advantage of the DXrun plugin? When you click the "Top" object, the clock is placed behind it, and won't come back out in any easy way.

You should be able to set the clock object, fauxs-xp (simple clock) to Z order of Normal, and make sure that it is a chiled of fauxs-xp (top). I will see what I can do about it when I get home from work.
